Hindu devotees perform a scene from the myth of Hindu Goddess Kali, the Goddess of time, during the Charak festival in Sylhet. It is also known as “Nil Puja”. The believers of Hindu religion celebrate this on the last day of the Bengali month of the year (Chaitra Songkranti). People believe that the festival will carry prosperity by eliminating the sorrow and sufferings of the previous year.
